HBO's Adaptation Of 'The Last Of Us' Will Start Filming In July

It's the year of giant video game franchise adaptations

As you may know, The Last Of Us is one of the biggest games to come out as of late with a second installment that had just released last year in June. The game is one of two Naughty Dog-developed titles getting film adaptations. The other title is Uncharted, with Tom Holland starring as titular Nathan Drake.

Over the Winter we've gotten some official casting news as to who will play Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). Now, we've just found that the filming will begin in Alberta, Canada in July. It's reported that the production will begin in July and end in June next year.

The series takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

What other Naughty Dog game deserves a movie?
