Huge Metro Exodus Update Involving Next-Gen Improvements And A New Entry
Exciting news for fans of the fps survival horror series
The Metro series starting with the first two were of my favorite horror first-person shooter games to date. With the mutated creatures, the claustrophobic underground substation, the micromanagement of resources including medical kits and ammo, and the intense narrative of survival in a post-apocalyptic world, Metro had it all for me. When I discovered the linear format of the games would now permit open-world exploration, I couldn't be happier.
Finally, in 2019 the third installment of Metro that follows the events of 2033, hits retail stores. Immediately, I grab it and I'm immersed in the savage post-apocalyptic world once again. Developer 4A Games couldn't have gotten my money any quicker.
During a meeting that occurred in direction of Metro's 10th anniversary, Deep Silver announced an update for their latest title. The next-gen consoles would be getting major performance enhancements, for free.
4A also announced a follow-up in the works that will take advantage of the next-gen console capabilities.
The studio is "actively exploring multiplayer concepts" for the Metro universe. In fact, an exciting thing that was mentioned was a multiplayer component being added which is what we ask for in a lot of strictly single-player games and like Fallout 76, we get it and wish we never asked. I'm curious to see how this plays out. I feel like a second or third player would get rid of the horror element completely.
The complaint about the lack of new games to play on the new consoles is increasing tenfold. Now players will be able to experience the new luxuries of the next generation with underrated games they missed from the last!
