"I'm working on a couple of things" said the iconic horror director
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast (check it out HERE), John Carpenter said he'd be willing to return to directing if the right opportunity surfaces! So... someone please give him an amazing opportunity that he can't turn down!!
This is good news to say the least. Because in recent years, Carpenter has been more or less adamant about being retired from the directors chair. John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors of all time. And I'd love to get at least ONE more feature film from the legend.
"I’m working on a couple of things. But I’m not doing anything for a while, until the world comes back and rights itself. It’s insane now. It’s nuts! I’m not going to go out there and get sick."
Is the quote in the interview that has everyone all excited. I don't blame the 73 year old for wanting to wait out the pandemic. I just hope the pandemic ends soon!
If I could pick, I'd love for Carpenter to make a simple horror film in the style of his earlier works like Halloween and The Fog. Something reminiscent of more modern horror films like It Follows and The Void (that ironically were no doubt inspired by Carpenter.)
