Mike Flanagan (The Haunting Of Hill House) Wants To Adapt Stephen King's Dark Tower Series!

God please make this happen!

There's no doubt that Mike Flanagan is one of the best horror directors working today. His works include Oculus, Doctor Sleep, Gerald's Game and Netflix's The Haunting Of Hill House.

He is a master of subtly in horror, and character work. Which makes him the absolute best when it comes to adapting Stephen King's works.

At Fantasia Fest 2020, Flanagan was asked if he still had any dream project's he'd like to tackle.

This was his answer:

“I’ve got the answer that most Stephen King fans are going to have. The Dark Tower is forever going to be the story I wish I could tell. That would be the Holy Grail. I mean, talk about an adaptation challenge… So many very talented people have poured so much time and heart and soul and blood, sweat and tears trying to crack that… That for me would be the one. I don’t know how that would happen, or if it could happen. That property, it’s daunting. Just to think about even taking first steps toward it.”

The Dark Tower has been attempted to adapted many times. The most recent being the 2017 film starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.

Mike Flanagan has a lot on his plate at the moment. Including the follow-up to Hill House, The Haunting Of Bly Manor, that's dropping on Netflix October 9th.

He is also directing the upcoming 7 episode series for Netflix called "Midnight Mass."

Let's hope someday he can bring The Dark Tower to our televisions!!
