Okay... This isn't horror, but it's EPIC!
Despite the endless attempts from the star of 1982's Conan the Barbarian film, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been unable to get a sequel made for the classic. Any hope fans have had to see it come to life had been more than likely thrown at the window, as it appears Netflix has acquired the property and will be developing a TV show based on it.
The news broke today thanks to Deadline. Nellie Andrews from Deadline had this to say, “I hear the project, from Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler’s Pathfinder Media, is the first in a deal between Netflix and Conan Properties International, owned by Malmberg’s Cabinet Entertainment. The pact gives Netflix the exclusive option to acquire rights to the Conan literary library and develop works across TV and film, both live-action and animated.”
Netflix is still seeking a writer/director and showrunner for the project.
