Neve Campbell is Set to Return as Sidney Prescott in Upcoming 'Scream' Movie!

I don't care what anyone says, this movie will be fucking amazing.

Neve Campbell is a national treasure at this point, thanks to her legendary role as Sidney Prescott in Scream! We are excited to report that she has officially signed on for the upcoming Scream movie. And let's be honest, it wouldn't have been a Scream movie without her.

Having previously played the lead in all 4 of Wes Craven's Scream movies, it wouldn't have felt right without her. With her now attached officially we have a powerhouse cast of Scream veterans set to return: David Arquette and Courtney Cox. As well as new-comers Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S) and written by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock), the new Scream is shaping up to be amazing.

Radio Silence said in a statement yesterday: “We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”

Neve Campbell herself gave her blessing to the project: “After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

Spyglass and Paramount Pictures will release the film worldwide on January 14, 2022.

Are you a fan of the other 4? Do you think this one will be any good? Let us know in the comments!
