New Trailer | 'The Mortuary Collection'' morgue tested, Sam Raimi approved
Shudder released a trailer for a new anthology series based around one of the most morbid places, the funeral home
If you don't know what an anthology series is, let me name a few good ones. V/H/S, Love, Death, and Robots, The ABC's of Death, and the classic Tales From the Crypt should ring a bell. If none of those are familiar to you, an anthology isn't just one story, it's multiple stories all told under the same vein.
This is a fantastic way for writers and directors to flex their storytelling muscles and I am all for it, and so is Sam Raimi who deemed the series "A twisted tapestry of grisly fun and endlessly inventive terror." We all know Raimi from a whole slew of movies such as The Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell, and The Grudge.
The main logline of The Mortuary Collection is that every corpse tells a story. Longtime Actor Clancy Brown will play Montgomery Dark, the shows creepy mortician who is soon to be retired and will be sharing his life experiences with a drifter who applies for a job at this funeral home. The show will then ensue in plenty of dark stories 'each scarier and darker than the last'.
This series created by Ryan Spindell will be coming exclusively to Shudder and if you are not a subscriber, consider it soon for this series drops soon on October 15th.
