Born in Toronto, Ontario, Christopher Plummer began his legendary acting career in 'The Sound of Music', boosting 50 years of steady movie and television acting roles acquiring multiple rewards. He will be mostly remembered for his roles in Malcolm X, Dracula 2000, National Treasure, Dreamscape, Inside Man, Up, Wolf, The Return of the Pink Panther, Star Trek 4, and A Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Plummer was most proficient in the works of Shakespeare, having played Hamlet, Macbeth, and Mark Antony to name a few. He described difficulties in playing other roles at that time, explaining how we used every trick in the book to give the character more depth.
He's succeeded in many iconic acting roles awarding him an Oscar, two Tonys, and two Emmys. Plummer leaves behind over one hundred acting credits spanning across his seven-decade run and became the oldest academy award nominee for acting at 88.
Plummer's death was confirmed by his wife, Elaine Taylor, who said the cause of death was a blow to the head from a fall.
