Real-Life Horror: Something Is Rotten In Denmark - It's Zombies!!
A chilling story similar to a lot of zombie movie plots... science gone wrong!
The Walking Dead fans will either be incredibly excited or deeply horrified to learn that zombies are a real thing.
A 2019 article in USAToday reported the existence actual zombie-like animals, and, now, the region of West Jutland, Denmark is dealing with what they believe are real zombies - the animated dead rising from the grave.
In response to learning that the world's favorite fur animal is a carrier of the dreaded COVID-19, mink farmers slaughtered millions of the sweet-faced little critters.
The only problem is that the little buggers refused to stay dead. Eye-witness reports relate seeing the animals rising from the grave.
Local officials say there is a perfectly plausible explanation – gas build up in the animals' bodies have caused them to swell and appear to be coming out of what should have been their final resting places.
A Danish police spokesman, Thomas Kristensen, told a state broadcaster that gases form while the body decays underground. “In this way, in the worst cases, the mink get pushed out of the ground,” Kristensen said of the nightmarish sight.
According to reports, the problem is that millions of animals were buried in a too shallow mass grave, and the burial trenches should have been deeper. Locals are calling for the bodies to be exhumed and cremated.
As a zombie aficionado, I'm not sure that's such a good idea, though. Cremation of infected bodies didn't work out so good for the folks in Night of the Living Dead.
