The Last Of Us Director Is On The Pilot Episode Of The HBO Series Adaptation
Can't go wrong with an adaptation if those who worked on the source material are on board
The Last Of Us is one of the biggest games. Even though the series are Playstation exclusives, the game has acquired enough uproar to be turned into an HBO series.
We know Neil Druckmann the creator and writer of the game is on board to co-write and produce but recently we just heard that the director, Kantemir Balagov, is doing the pilot episode.
The main developer of the series is Craig Mazin who's done Chernobyl, the 2019 series on HBO.
Balagov is best known for Beanpole and Closeness. Beanpole won the Un Certain Regard award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
The story takes place 20 years after the outbreak and all modern civilizations have been destroyed. The show will favorite our main protagonists from the first game, Joel and Ellie. Adapting the first game of the series, we will follow the journey across the U.S that the two took, working together to survive.
Playstation Productions, World Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog produce with Sony Pictures Television co-producing.
I'm excited to see this story become a series because it was an amazing story for those who missed it and for those to revisit it.
