Timothee Chalamet Plays Edward Scissorhands In Cadillac Superbowl Commercial
This is a huge tease to horror fans
We watch the Super Bowl to not only witness teams battle ranks by acquiring enough points to triumph the opposing team but to see sights like Timothee Chalamet play as the son of iconic Edward Scissorhands. This won ad of the year.
All though for Edward Scissorhands to make a return would be amazing, I'm afraid this is just a tease for a Cadillac commercial. Chalamet plays Edgar, Edward's son, who was also born with the famous disability. Acting alongside Winona Ryder, who played Edward's mother Kim in the original, Edgar receives the self-driving car after failing to do multiple tasks.
This ad makes me happy every time I watch it.
The ad markets the Cadillac LYRIQ hands-free driving that entails someone with scissors for hands could operate it.
The ad was directed by David Shane who won Chalamet over to play Edgar because he was a fan of his previous works. He had also been a huge fan of Edward Scissor growing up on top of the product being marketed being geared towards reforming fossil fuel dependency.
